"I worked with Molly for 12 weeks at the end of last year and I have to say, it has changed my life - and I don't say that lightly. When I say changed my life, I mean Molly changed the way I look at myself, my relationships, success, peace, and so many other things. I loved every minute of working with her!
Every week we had check ins and Molly worked so hard to put together exercises for me that pushed me to set important goals and follow action steps to achieve them. At the beginning of our time together, I was proud of how far I had come in my fitness journey, but I still didn't recognize the success I had achieved internally. Molly helped me be thankful for my body, believe that I am beautiful, and helped me establish a healthy relationship with food. Now, I am acting intuitively with food and exercise and I have never felt more free.
The way Molly held me accountable was a huge motivating factor for me. I had action steps to complete for her (and me) each week, and I saw results when I followed our plan to make better habits for myself. My lifestyle has changed because of my time with Molly. I am grateful for Molly's constant encouragement and guidance, but most importantly for the ease with which she got me back in touch with my own reality. I learned how important it is to focus on small steps that build up to big accomplishments rather than expecting success to happen overnight. I learned that success doesn't always look the way you imagine, but that it is important to recognize the great work I'm doing to achieve the best in my life.
When we first started, Molly and I focused on of one of my goals to find a healthy balance of working out, eating healthy, and indulging in self care. What I thought that meant for me was sticking to a strict schedule of food plans, exercise routines, and an occasional treat. Turns out, after lots of hard work and self reflection, I realized that I've found the most joy in working out when I want to, eating what makes me happy, and treating myself to small luxuries regardless of the reason. Molly was the catalyst of all of that. She helped me form healthy habits, and change my perspective and lifestyle in such a positive way.
My shift in actions and focus have brought out the best in my beliefs and have allowed me to be more patient and in tune with myself. I'm more motivated than ever because I believe I have the power to create positive change for myself and others. Like I said, "life changing," is no exaggeration and I am extremely grateful for Molly's encouragement, accountability, trust, positivity and friendship that helped make these amazing changes happen for me. "Lisa and I began our journey on 8/5/2016. I had just finished up a Mountaineering class that I had been taking in the summer. During our first conversation Lisa asked me what I wanted to work on during our time together. I told her that I had gained 30 lbs in a year, and I wanted to buy my house, so weight loss and finances. I also felt that it was time for me to put some effort into finding a relationship. I told her that during my Mountaineering class it was really frustrating that I was always the last one to get to the peak, and that everyone always seemed to be so much faster than I was. I also told her about my fear. Whenever we came to rivers that needed to be crossed on a log, I would freeze in fear. I would always make it across the river, but I had a very difficult time forcing myself to do it. That became our motto and an analogy for the rest of our time together: getting across the river of weight loss, and financial security.
When we began to dig deeper into the reasons behind the weight gain and the financial difficulties, we found that fear was the root cause of both of those issues. I was using the weight as a barrier to keep men at a distance, so my fear of commitment and hurt were the cause. The fear of owning a house, and that commitment were making it hard for me to focus on paying my debt down, and saving money. By the end of our 12 weeks working together, I no longer felt the fear holding me back. I talked to my landlord and a mortgage broker about buying my house. The mortgage broker put me on a path towards paying off my debt, and getting a mortgage for my house. I have signed up for the 15K Hot Chocolate run in San Diego as a goal to focus on for weight loss and to increase my endurance and speed. I have lost an average of 3 inches across my body and 8 pounds.
The best way to describe how I feel now is light as opposed to dark with fear and depression. I face each day with a smile and a determination to make the day a good one. As my family likes to say “Life is Good.” I still haven’t found the love of my life, but my promise to Lisa is that the day after the 15K, I will sign up for internet dating. I am very grateful for all of the help that Lisa gave me."
"Before I started working with Lisa, I was always stressing about the foods I was eating. If I ate one unhealthy meal, I felt like it was the end of the world. I avoided going out with friends in fear of eating something unhealthy or drinking too much. If a family member of my boyfriend suggested a place to eat, I had to check the menu ahead of time to make sure there was something healthy enough for me on the menu. I didn't really think anything of it until Lisa called me out on it. I realized this was not how I wanted to live my life. I wanted to have fun and stop stressing about food.
After weeks of working with Lisa, she helped me find a balance with food. I may not always be perfect, but I've definitely come a long way. I no longer fight with food, which I felt like I was doing daily. I have learned to tune into my body and really listen to what my body needs. It's like I'm more at peace with food, which is something I didn't think was possible.
Along with helping me find a balance with food, she helped me understand that working out shouldn't feel like a chore. She helped me find activities that I genuinely enjoy rather than having to force myself to go to the gym. All in all, I feel more balanced and more like my self since working with Lisa. I can't thank her enough for all that she's done for me."
"I’ve been working with Molly for the past 3 months. We’ve been working on finding the right foods for me, getting into a rhythm with my workout routine and resting when my body needs rest.
I work odd hours sometimes which drives me to get out of my routine in terms of eating right and working out. When I get out of my routine I used to feel guilty for letting that happen. Molly has worked with me to help me come to terms that some things are out of my control. I can’t control my late night hours and I’m learning to have compassion for myself on days that I’ve been up since 5 AM and can’t get myself to the gym.
When this happens she’s helped me set action steps for the week to work back into my routine, without overworking myself. She’s really helped me focus on listening to my body and doing what it’s telling me to do and I feel more balanced because of it."
